Fakiru Week Day One:  Blue
Compleeeted!  Youth is tomorrow!

Starting another series of “art by artists I love”!  This one’s by meiharu, and while it was really really difficult to choose my favorite piece of hers, this one has always made me smile, and just appealed to me in terms of the whole ballet/motion thing.  Meiharu also got to my bromance-loving heart with sketches of Fakir and Mytho, as well as just wonderful Princess Tutu art in general, like this piece.  In addition, she’s been doing a lot for the DragonballZ tag, (and, if I’m honest, I so much prefer her style than the show’s), and also a bit of Homestuck, and some random wonderfulness.
And then there’s this.
YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.
Now go check out her Tumblr and DeviantArt and give her some love!

Lars and Polly’s Dinner Date by GingerOpal
Another artist whose art I absolutely love!  This piece is one of my favorites, demonstrating her lovely use of colors, and also the intriguing personalities of her characters.  (I love Lars’ “please someone save me” look XD)  Ginger is currently working on a book series called “realms and remedies”, for which she has snippets and character art and all sorts of lovely goodies.  Check her out on DeviantArt, Facebook and Tumblr!

I just wanted to drop a line to say I'm LOVING your Quatre art! (Also your GW art in general, but Quatre's my fave, so I'm biased). I was thinking about the pilots being kids lately as well, and so your recent painting got me right in the feels!

mspaintfanart:

!!! THANKS a bunch, really, I’m blushing. Quatre is my favorite as well so he basically dominates my blog these days. FORGIVE ME FOR GIVING YOU THE FEELS THOUGH, let’s be feelsy together, friend!

Never apologize for the feels!  I LUVS THEM!  We shall indeed be feelsy together!

Sorry Waffles.. but Shenlong wont let you meditate in peace. besides! you like flowers don’t youuu?~and there. done my little collection of the pilots with a kid gijinka of their gundams.  i should tag them as something special.. like.. gundam daycare or something.

OK, NOW I have one by roesart (sorry about the confusion.)  Here’s a selection from her adorable chibified/humanized gundams series.  She’s another artist whose GW stuff I love!  I posted a piece of hers with some lovely 2+4 bonding, so I’m also posting this adorable scene.  But she’s got plenty of other art on offer besides GW loveliness, from such fandoms as Fire Emblem, Phoenix Wright, and Flight Rising.  Check out her Tumblr here!

Art of rubber straps that don’t actually exist and make me sad because they don’t exist ;; Did you know Gundam Wing turns like 20 next year? Isn’t that a cause for adorable merch? No? Okay…
So! I caved in and decided to post the pilots-only set. Mostly ‘cause I have no idea who else to add… So far my additions are: Relena, Zechs & Treize. I might make the engineers for shits and giggles ‘cause it’s the engineers.
My biggest pet peeve with these precious boys is the colours. None of the screenshots/scans are the same. I know that technically precious little 04 is supposed to be the palest of the bunch (somehow) but I happen to like the screenshot I use ‘cause it’s clear and… Yeah. I’ll manage your palettes eventually guys.
Enjoy!

THEY ARE SO CUUTE! i want them to be real DX *grabby hands*wait 20 years? shit was i seriously 6 when GW came out? 8U

EDIT: (never reblog posts at 3 A.M.)  These adorable GW chibis are by catherinearbour.  I just want to hug them all!

Autumn Walk by Lizzy-D
A very good friend of mine also happens to be a marvelous fantasy artist, and this is just her latest piece! I absolutely adore the Autumnal colors, and now I want a pet dragon as well. Anybody want to buy me one? Eh? XD   Lizzy has a wonderful way of meshing fantasy fashion with an Art Nouveau sensibility.  Plus, her pieces are just so lovely to look at!  Check out her marvelous work on her Deviant Art, Facebook, and her art blog!

I am freaking out a little. In the best way- they turned out great! I’ll be selling copies from table d308 at Boston Comic Con this Friday, Saturday and Sunday! IT’S MY FIRST TIME DOING THIS! I am so pumped.Regarding online availability- I don’t have a plan yet- I’m waiting to see what my stock looks like after the con, and if there is enough interest around these parts to make another (larger?) run! So- let me know if you want one and I’ll see what I can do! Also, soon there will be buttons :DBe blessed!-n

Pimping more fellow artists’ work!  The incredible nicholaskole has many different projects going, but this is a personal one, and I’m very excited to see where he goes with it.  I remember seeing the fun and innovative creature designs over at Deviant Art, so Jellybots has plenty of interest for me.  Nicholas Kole is also the illustrator for the online comic Dawngate Chronicles, an expansion of the online game Dawngate (Waystone Games).  For Maleficent fans, he illustrated the YA chapter book titled The Curse of Maleficent, which was a tie-in for the movie.  (Going to be honest, I wasn’t interested in the movie until I saw his illustrations…)  Anyway, check out his Tumblr, also his blog and DeviantArt, and ask him lots of questions.  He’s a lovely chappie with a gorgeous moustache (very distinguished!)

I need to do more art…but ALSO I need to reblog awesome art by other people.  I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile, especially since there are so many people doing things I find to be awesome.  Therefore, I will be pimping other artists from time to time because they deserve it.  Some are creating the art professionally, others are just doing it for the funsies.  This falls into the latter category.  Here’s some sexy, sexy Heero by the lovely meirannataku.  Ohhhhyeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh…..

GW 30 Day Challenge: Day 9

thoughts-in-stereo:

((OMG SO BEHIND))

9. A pairing you wish is canon

This is going to be short.

None!

I like GW being not really about romance and stuff. It’s about war and the relationships of people and the way meeting and knowing people change you.

Sure, its fun to ship the hell out of it, and there are some heavily suggested pairings, but I still prefer my canon TV series to remain open and non-committed to any pairing. :)

*waves hands in the air*  Woooooo!  Friendship bracelets for everyone!

This was meant to be a quick warm up, but it turned into a comic that I’ve wanted to draw for a while. This is something that is extremely important to me, and I appreciate it if you read it.
A while ago, I heard a story that broke my heart. A family went a cat shelter to adopt. The daughter fell in love with a 3-legged cat. The father straight up said “absolutely not”. Because he was missing a leg. That cat was that close to having a family that loved him, but the missing leg held him back. Why?!
Many people have the initial instinct of “nope” when they see an imperfect animal. I get it, but less-adoptable does NOT mean less loveable. 9 out of 10 people will choose a kitten over an adult cat. And those 10% that would get an adult cat often overlook “different” animals.
All I want people to do is be open to the idea of having a “different” pet in their lives. Choose the pet that you fall in love with, but at least give all of them a fair shot at winning your heart.
Don’t dismiss them, they deserve a loving home just as much as any other cat. They still purr, they still love a warm lap, they still play, they still love you. Trust me, next time you are in the market for a new kitty, just go over to that one cat that’s missing an eye and see what he’s all about!

Let me tell to you a thing.

This is Lenore. I first saw her in a little cage at the Petco I frequent (I used to take my parents’ dog in for puppy play time), and she looked like the grouchiest, old, crotchety cat in the world, and I fell instantly in love. She was cranky, she was anti-social, hanging out at the back of her cage. Her fur was matted because she wouldn’t let the groomers near her.
She was perfect.
But I didn’t have a place for her. I wasn’t living in my own space yet, and where I was, I wasn’t allowed cats. So I pressed my face to the bars of her cage and I promised that if no one had adopted her by the time I’d bought a house, I would come back for her.
I visited her every week for over six months while I looked for a house. At one point, they had to just shave her entire rear-end because the mats or fur were so bad. They told me she clawed the heck outta the groomer that did it, screamed the entire time, and spent the next two days growling at anyone that came near the cage.
A couple of weeks later, I closed on my house. I went back and I got an employee, and I said: “That one. I need that cat.”
They got the paperwork and the lady who ran the rescue that was bringing the cats in told me that Lenore (at the time, Lila) was 8 years old, had been owned by an elderly lady who had died, and brought in to a different rescue, who’d had her for six months on top of the time I’d been seeing her at Petco.
This kitty had been living in a 3x3’ cube for over a YEAR because she was older and “less adoptable.”
I signed the paperwork, put her in a cat carrier, and drove her to my new home. I had pretty much nothing; a bed, an old couch, a couple of bookcases, and a tank of mice I called “Cat TV”. I let her out of the carrier and onto my bed, and I told her “I told you I would come back for you when I had a place. It’s not much, but it’s yours too now.”
Lenore spent the next three days straight purring non-stop. She followed me around the house purring. Sat next to me purring. Slept next to me purring. Leaning into every touch, purring, purring, always purring. She still purrs if you so much as think about petting her. She’s amazing, and I love her.

So, you know, if you’re thinking about adopting, and you see a beast that others consider “less adoptable,” think about Lenore.

IM CRYING I LOVE CATS FUUUUCK

This is beautiful ❤️

I made a decision that when I can have another cat I’ll get the one that’s been at the shelter the longest without going to a good home.

This is Harpo, named for Harpo Marx the silver screen comedian.  The minute we saw him at the shelter, we knew he was the one for us.  He was a scrawny little kitten with one working eye, a missing fang, half a tail and a fused lower back.  But he just rolled over and wanted to be loved the minute we came up to his cage.  He doesn’t even know that he hops around like a rabbit and can’t see out of his left eye.  Now he’s a fat, gorgeous, contented boy who seriously needs his own webcam 24/7.  We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found him!
