This actually would have been large enough to get the Californians off their couches.
Maybe.
Earthquake of the Day: The United States Geological Survey is reporting a shallow earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 has just occurred 15km south of Mineral, VA.
The tremor was felt as far away and New York and Ohio. Government buildings in Washington D.C. are being evacuated as a precaution. There have been no immediate reports of injury or damage.

HOLY SHIT. I just felt this in NEW YORK. I’m at work and the whole house was shaking. At first I thought it was a large truck going by or my boss doing aerobics upstairs or something. But then she started screaming that it was an earthquake and to come upstairs and by the time I got up there, it was all over. This is the first time I’ve ever witnessed anything like this before. CRAZY.
